Ruth Wilson has been confirmed to play Hedda Gabler at the National Theatre.
The Gloden Globe and two-time Olivier award winning actress will play the title role in a new modern adaptation of Ibsen’s masterpiece by Patrick Marber and directed by Ivo van Hove.
Wilson was most recently on stage in the 2015 Broadway production of Constellations for which she received a Tony Award nomination.
The production will also feature Kyle Soller, Sinead Matthews, Chukwudi Iwuji, Kate Duchene and Eva Magyar.
Hedd Gabler runs from 5 December 2016 at the National Theatre.
