Anton Stephans will lead the cast of Moby Dick! The Musical which receives its first London revival at the Union Theatre.
Stephens will play Headmistress/Ahab alongisde X Factor alumni Brenda Edwards who will play boy crazy hussy Esta.
Edwards appeared in the second series of The X Factor and has since gone on to appear in Chicago, Carmen Jones, We Will Rock You and most recently the UK tour of Hairspray.
The cast also features Rachel Anne Rayham, Laura Mansell, Aimee Hodnett, Glen Facey, Sam Barrett, Rebekah Lowings, Pérola Congo and Grant McConvey.
Originally produced in the West End by Cameron Mackintosh, the musical opened to scathing reviews at the Piccadilly Theatre and shut after 4 months.
A mixture of high camp and wild anachronism overflowing with double entendres the show sees a group of anarchic school girls produce a musical to keep their school afloat and decide to base it on Herman Melville’s famous novel.
The new production will be directed by Andrew Wright and will run from 12 October 2016 until 12 November 2016 at the Union Theatre.
