BBC One is to broadcast Mischief Theatre’s smash hit play Peter Pan Goes Wrong this Christmas.
The production which returns to the West End following rave reviews last year will be filmed in front of a live tv audience at Pinewood Studios and broadcast as part of the BBC’s festive programming.
Commissioned by Shane Allen, Controller of Comedy Commissioning, BBC Studios, the production will be directed by Dewi Humphreys, produced by Michelle Farr and executive produced by Stephen McCrum.
Peter Pan Goes Wrong is co-written by Mischief Theatre company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, creators of the award-winning stage comedy The Play That Goes Wrong.
Both ‘Goes Wrong’ productions are renowned for their highly physical comedy packed with finely-tuned farce and Buster Keaton-inspired slapstick delivered with split-second timing.
Allen said: “This word of mouth phenomenon is an absolute riot which plays to all ages and hits the sweet spot for the BBC One family audience.”

Peter Pan Goes Wrong will play a limited Christmas season from 20 October 2016 until 29 January 2017 at the Apollo theatre.
