Jack Black and Paul Rudd visit Broadway’s hit musical School of Rock.
Based on the smash hit 2003 film, School of Rock – The Musical features music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor.
Black who played Dewey in the original film attended with his family and fellow actor Paul Rudd. Following the performance they met with the cast led by Alex Brightman, posing for pictures, signing musical instruments and the School of Rock blackboard. Black said the show was a “A Broadway masterpiece”.
School of Rock –The Musical is the first original British musical ever to premiere on Broadway. The production has continually broken box office records at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway.
Plans for a West End production of School of Rock – The Musical are currently underway and the search young performers to take part in the production began last month.
School of Rock – The Musical will run from 24 October 2016 at the New London Theatre.
