Hobson’s Choice receives West End transfer

Jonathan Church’s Theatre Royal Bath production of Hobson’s Choice is to receive a West End transfer.

Judge John Deed’s Martin Shaw will reprise his role in Harold Brighouse’s classic comic love story as Henry Horatio Hobson, one of the greatest comic characters in English drama.

Hobson’s Choice is the tale of a Salford cobbler with three unruly daughters that owes more than a little to King Lear and Cinderella. The homage is purely intentional.

2016 will mark the one hundredth anniversary of the first UK production of Harold Brighouse’s classic comedy, which is rich with laughter, wit and warmth.

Joining Shaw will be Naomi Frederick as Maggie Hobson, Bryan Dick as Willy Mossop, Gabrielle Dempsey  as Vickey Hobson and Joanna McCallum as Mrs Hepworth.

Further casting is to be announced.

Hobson’s Choice runs from 8 June 2016 until 10 September 2016 at the Vaudeville Theatre.
