CATS returns to Broadway

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS, one of the biggest hits in theatrical history, will return to Broadway this summer at the Neil Simon Theatre.

This will be the first Broadway revival since the original Broadway production, which closed in 2000 after 7,485 performances and 18 years at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre.

When CATS opens, Andrew Lloyd Webber will, once again, have the rare distinction of having three musicals running simultaneously on Broadway: The Phantom of the Opera, School of Rock – The Musical, and CATS.

CATS will be directed by Trevor Nunn with design by John Napier, sound by Mick Potter, lighting by Natasha Katz and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, based on the original choreography and associate direction by Gillian Lynne.

CATS will begin preview performances from 14 July 2016, with an official opening set for 2 August 2016 at the Neil Simon Theatre.
