Simon Russell Beale returns to the Royal Shakespeare Company in the forthcoming production of The Tempest
Russell Beale who returns to the RSC after a 20-year hiatus will play Prospero in director Gregory Doran’s new production of The Tempest. Russell Beale who is an associate artist at the RSC last performed with the company in 1996 in Sam Mendes’ production of the same play.
Working with Andy Serkis’ Imaginarium Studios and technology company Intel, Doran’s new production will marry Shakespeare’s words with cutting edge digital design to create “the most technologically advanced production” it has ever staged.
The Tempest which concludes the RSC’s 2016 season will run from 8 November 2016 to 21 January 2017, with press night on 17 November.
