Rumour has it Sugarbabes singer Jade Ewen and West End actor Dean John-Wilson are in early negotiations for the lead roles in Disney’s new musical Aladdin.
If cast, the duo will soon be flying across the stage on a magic carpet singing the Grammy and Academy Award winning song A Whole New World. Jade Ewen is up for the role of Princess Jasmine and Dean John-Wilson the eponymous street-urchin come hero.
To date, the only official cast member announced is Trevor Dion Nicholas who is currently in the Broadway production, and has been cast as the Genie.
John-Wilson recently played Benigno Aquino in David Byrne and Fatboy Slim’s musical Here Lies Love at the National Theatre and Ewen is currently in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hot salsa musical In The Heights at the King’s Cross Theatre.
Disney’s Aladdin will play from 27 May 2016 at the Prince Edward Theatre
