The Pelicot Trial is a piece of documentary theatre built from trial testimony, police files, social commentary and psychiatric reports relating to the prosecution of 51 men in Gisèle Pelicot’s case in Mazan, France.

Developed with journalists, anthropologists and local feminist organisations in France, the production is framed by its creators as a tribute to the woman whose decision to make her trial public became a global symbol of the fight against sexual violence. The piece had its world premiere at the Vienna Festival in June 2025, and has since toured internationally to Avignon, New York, Lisbon, Milan and Bergen, with a different company of local artists and public figures performing it in each city.
