It is a provocative comedy that follows an idealistic young rabbi who takes on his congregation’s billionaire president over a $30 million donation, on the single most sacred day of the year.

Andy Sandberg also takes the helm as director, bringing his eye for sharp, contemporary new writing to Riverside Studios, and casting is yet to be announced.  

A world premiere

Audiences will be the very first to see this play anywhere in the world. Sacrilegious is the first original play from Tom Schulman – the Academy Award-winning writer of Dead Poets Society and What About Bob?, marking a major new chapter for one of Hollywood’s most celebrated screenwriters.
