The Barbican has announced new programming for its Spring/Summer 2027 season. The Theatre & Dance programme will feature the return of international collaborators as well as two UK premieres, two world premieres, and the record-breaking Death Note: The Musical back by popular demand.

The Barbican has announced its Spring/Summer 2027 programme, with both the Theatre and The Pit hosting productions from homegrown talent and international artists. Several of the included artists have a notably prolific history of collaboration with the venue.

The season will features two UK premieres – Caroline Guiela Nguyen’s Saigon and Plexus Polaire’s A Doll’s House – alongside two world premieres, plus the return of Barbican favourites including Death Note: The Musical, A Night with Boy Blue, and the venue’s continuing partnership with MimeLondon.

Toni Racklin, Barbican Head of Theatre & Dance, said:

“Something incredibly special about our Theatre & Dance programme is that many of the artists we work with – all of whom we consider to be among the best theatre makers in the world – return to us year on year, considering the Barbican to be their London home.

This season, we welcome back the wonderful Caroline Guiela Nguyen, Boy Blue, Plexus Polaire, ZooCo, CRIPtic Arts, and continue our longstanding partnerships with MimeLondon and Trafalgar Entertainment, who are remounting the spectacular Death Note: The Musical by popular demand.

We are also thrilled to be working with Theatre Peckham for the first time on a vital work aimed at schools and young people. Our commitment to artist development continues with the announcement of Open Lab 2027/28, and watch this space for more exciting programming still to come for 2027.”
