Neighbours star Stefan Dennis and Casualty’s George Rainsford lead the cast for the UK tour of The King’s Speech, as the full cast is announced. The production is set to open at the Barn Theatre this October ahead of a major nationwide run.
The Barn Theatre in Cirencester, in partnership with Tiny Giant Entertainment, has announced the full casting for its new production of The King’s Speech by David Seidler, directed by Loveday Ingram. Based on the Oscar-winning film of the same name starring Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, new stage adaptation will follow Bertie, who would become King George VI, with a speech impediment who turns to an unconventional speech therapist from Australia to turn him into the king Britain can believe in.
Neighbours star Stefan Dennis will lead the cast as Lionel Logue, alongside George Rainsford (Casualty, Dear England) as Bertie, King George VI. Joining them are Rosanna Miles as Queen Elizabeth and Lucy Bromilow as Myrtle Logue/Wallis Simpson.
The production plays at the Barn Theatre from 9 October to 7 November 2026, before embarking on a major UK tour, through to July 2027.

About the play
Adapted by David Seidler, who also wrote the screenplay, The King’s Speech takes audiences to a country on the precipice of another terrible war, dealing with an abdicated king and a constitutional crisis. The only man who can provide hope for the nervous British public is Bertie, a man who is shy, unprepared for monarchy and, worst of all, has a debilitating speech impediment. With the future of the monarchy, and Britain itself, on the line, an historic radio address looms over a man who can barely stammer through full sentences. Desperate, Bertie and his family turn to an unconventional speech therapist from Australia to turn him into the king Britain can believe in. As royal protocol meets unorthodox challenges, what emerges is an unlikely but deeply meaningful friendship.
