The new parody musical based on blockbuster TV drama Heated Rivalry is coming to the UK!
Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody will get a UK premiere at this summer’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, playing at Udderbelly in Edinburgh from 5 to 30 August 2026.
The new show is written by Dylan MarcAurele, whose show Pop Off, Michaelangelo! played the festival last summer and transferred to London.
Inspired by the hit show about hockey, Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody is billed as following “starry-eyed golden boy Shane Hollander on his journey from power center to power bottom”!
Produced by Alan Kliffer, Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody is currently playing Off-Broadway in New York at The Culture Club, starring Jay Armstrong Johnson as Ilya Rozanov and Jimin Moon as Shane Hollander.
Casting for the UK production is to be announced.
There’s no current news about whether the show will transfer to London or the West End following it’s Edinburgh run.
Based on the hit TV series
The HBO Max series, which originally aired on Canada’s Crave, has proved a massive hit, and can be found in the UK on Sky and NOW.
Heated Rivalry is based on the original hockey book series “Game Changers” by Canadian romance novelist Rachel Reid.
On screen, Heated Rivalry stars Connor Storrie as Russian hockey star Ilya Rozanov, and Hudson Williams as his sporting nemesis Shane Hollander. Across six episodes, the drama tracks the two men carrying on a secret, years-long affair before eventually falling in love.
Season Two of Heated Rivalry has already been greenlit by Crave, with HBO Max returning as the key international partner.
Deep-Heat Rivalry in London
This new Heated Rivalry parody is not to be confused with a home-grown version!
Deep-Heat Rivalry, a new comedy spoof of the drama series, is coming to The Other Palace in London from 11 to 27 September 2026. Billed as a “porno panto parody”, the show is written by comedy duo Trevor Ashley (The Producers) and Phil Scott.
