The Truth – About the Cast
Starring Tony-award nominated Stephen Mangan (The Split, Green Wing) as Michel, Ardal O’Hanlon (Father Ted, How to Get to Heaven from Belfast) as Paul, Sarah Hadland (Miranda, The Job Lot) as Alice and two-time Olivier award winner Janie Dee as Laurence, each bring their wit and talent to this sophisticated comedy that keeps you on your toes.

What’s the story of The Truth? Michel is having an affair with his best friend’s wife, justifying it to himself and everyone around him through the rationale that honesty is overrated. As the characters weave a web of lies, the audience is left questioning who is really deceiving whom.
The Creative Team
Written by Florian Zeller, the celebrated dramatist behind plays including The Father and The Son, The Truth hones in on his ability to tread the fine line between comedy and tension – resulting in a comedy that will keep the audience laughing… but that they will also keep thinking about long after the final curtain call.
Director Lindsay Posner won two Oliviers for his production of Death and the Maiden at the Royal Court Theatre and is well-known for his ability to bring the heart of a play to life, with a slew of comedy revivals including Abigail’s Party and Noises Off.
Producers Simon Friend and Hannah Osmolka for Melting Pot also produced Zeller’s 2016 sell-out The Height of the Storm, as well as The Father, both on stage and in its BAFTA-winning film adaptation starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman.
