Lara Pulver and Peter Davison to join Imelda Staunton in Gypsy at the Savoy Theatre.
Joining Imelda Staunton in the West End transfer of Gypsy at the Savoy Theatre will be Lara Pulver, who reprises the role of Louise and Peter Davison who joins the cast to play Herbie. Further casting to be announced soon.
Lara Pulver makes her West End debut reprising the role of Louise from the Chichester Festival Theatre production of Gypsy. Her other theatre credits include Uncle Vanya for Chichester Festival Theatre, Parade for the Donmar Warehouse, Honk! for the National Theatre, The Last Five Years for the Menier Chocolate Factory, Into the Woods at the Royal Opera House, High Society at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and Grease at the Victoria Palace Theatre. Her television credits include Skins, Da Vinci Demons, Fleming, Sherlock, Robin Hood,True Blood and Spooks. Her recent film credits include The Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.
Peter Davison joins the Company to play Herbie. His theatre credits include Legally Blonde The Musical & Spamalot in the West End, Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre, The Vertical Hour at the Park Theatre, An Absolute Turkey at the Globe Theatre, The Last Yankee at the Young Vic & Duke of York Theatre’s, and Arsenic and Old Lace for Chichester Festival Theatre.
Davison’s extensive television credits include the fifth incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who, Unforgiven, Midsomer Murders, Miranda, The Queen, Death in Paradise, Cabbage and Pat, Toast of London, All Creatures Great and Small, The Last Detective, New Tricks, Micro Men, At Home with the Braithwaites, The Complete Guide to Parenting, A Very Peculiar Practice, Ain’t Misbehaving and Fear Stress and Anger.
Jonathan Kent’s five star Chichester Festival Theatre production of Gypsy will be the first production of Gypsy in the West End for 40 years. It will run a strictly limited season from 28 March at the Savoy Theatre.
