New play Taken at Midnight has started previewing this week (15 January 2015) at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

This Chichester Festival Theatre production stars acclaimed British actress Penelope Wilton and runs at the Haymarket for a strictly limited season until 14 March 2015.

Directed by Jonathan Church, Taken at Midnight is a new play by Mark Hayhurst about the mother of brilliant German Jewish lawyer Hans Litten, who fights for his release against the seemingly impossible might of the Nazi regime. Fearless and indomitable she confronts his captors at enormous personal risk. The unquestionable love of a mother for her son is put centre stage in Hayhurst’s study of the horrors of pre-war Nazi Germany.

Penelope Wilton returns to the West End following her performance in Hamlet in 2009 opposite Jude Law.
