Cats has started its blockbuster new run at the London Palladium.
Starring Nicole Scherzinger as Grizabella, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical has returned to London’s West End for a strictly limited season.
Cats is one of the longest-running shows in the West End and on Broadway, running for 21 record-breaking years and almost 9,000 performances at the New London Theatre.
The show won the Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for Best Musical and the Broadway production scooped seven Tony awards including Best Musical and ran for eighteen years.
Based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the original creative team – Director Trevor Nunn, Associate Director and Choreographer Gillian Lynne, Designer John Napier and Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber – have reunited to bring Cats back to the West End this Christmas.
