Blockbuster West End show Paddington The Musical has put out a casting call to find its next Jonathan Brown.
Paddington The Musical is now playing at the Savoy Theatre in London, booking to 14 February 2027.
Jonathan Brown is the son of Mr and Mrs Brown and part of the family that adopts Paddington Bear.
Jonathan is currently performed in the musical by Leo Collon, Stevie Hare, and Jasper Rowse.
The casting call has been put out by Nick Hockaday, who is in charge of young people’s casting for the show.
They are looking for applicants who are male, aged 9 to 11 years old, with strong acting and singing skills, and who are no taller than 135cm (4’5″). Applications can be made by emailing Hockaday Casting.

Paddington The Musical has proved a huge hit in the West End, opening in late November to incredible reviews from London’s theatre critics, including five-star reviews from the Guardian, Standard, Independent, Daily Mail, i Paper and What’s On Stage. Read a Reviews Round-up of Paddington.
The show has sold out most dates until late summer 2026, but with some limited premium seats available.
The creators of Paddington
Paddington features songs by McFly’s Tom Fletcher, and a book by Olivier Award winner Jessica Swale (Nell Gwynn), based on the much-loved Paddington Bear books by Michael Bond and the successful films.
The show is directed by award-winner Luke Sheppard (Starlight Express), with musical supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Matt Brind (Come Alive!), choreography by Ellen Kane, and scenic design by Tom Pye.
Last month saw celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Michael Bond, the beloved author who created Paddington.
Michael Bond died in 2017, aged 91.
