The producers of forthcoming West End musical Beautiful – The Carole King Musical have released a photo of the show’s star Katie Brayben as Carole King.
The show will star Katie Brayben (King Charles III) as Carole King alongside Alan Morrissey (I Can’t Sing!) as King’s husband and song-writing partner Gerry Goffin, Lorna Want as song-writer Cynthia Weil, Ian McIntosh as song-writer Barry Mann, Glynis Barber as King’s mother Genie Klein and Gary Trainor as music publisher and producer Don Kirshner.
The show kicks off its run at the Aldwych Theatre on 10 February 2015 and is directed by Marc Bruni, with a book by Douglas McGrath with words and music by Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is the untold story of Carole King’s journey from school girl to superstar, becoming one of the most successful solo acts in music history.
The show has proved a big hit on Broadway, winning two Tony Awards and featuring an extraordinary song selection including It Might As Well Rain Until September, Take Good Care of my Baby, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, Up on the Roof, Locomotion, You’ve Got a Friend, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling, On Broadway and Uptown.
Currently playing at the Aldywch Theatre is Strictly Come Dancing’s Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace in their sensational new show Dance ‘Til Dawn.
