Further casting has been announced for The Story, the National Theatre’s UK premiere of Tracey Scott Wilson’s newsroom thriller.
The Story is playing in the National’s Olivier Theatre from 27 August to 24 October 2026.
Already announced is BAFTA Award-winner Letitia Wright (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever).
She will be joined by Aliyah Odoffin (All My Sons), Wilf Scolding (Andor, Cabaret), Ashley Thomas (Hostage), and Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black).
What is The Story about? Ambitious newspaper reporter Yvonne Wilson goes against her editor Pat Morgan to investigate the murder of a white teacher killed in a Black neighbourhood. Yvonne is also up against three other journalists, all racing to get the headline – at any cost. But when shocking new evidence pulls them into the dark heart of the case, they are each forced to confront what they’re prepared to risk to tell their version of the truth.
The cast also includes Tee Arnold (The Prince), Donna Augustin (St Marks), Antonia Bernath (Downton Abbey), Linseigh Green (The Drifter’s Girl), Jay Simpson (Black Mirror) and Unique Spencer (Top Boy). Further casting is to be announced.
Written by award-winner Tracey Scott Wilson (The Americans), this adrenaline-fuelled newsroom thriller is directed by Clint Dyer (Death of England, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest).
