Disney in talks to bring Aladdin to the London Palladium in 2016
Thomas Schumacher, head of Disney Theatrical Productions, is in talks with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Theatres about securing the London Palladium for Disney’s Aladdin.
The show is proving a big hit on Broadway – and James Monroe Iglehart scooped a Tony Award this month for Best performance by an actor in a featured role in a musical for playing the Genie.
They are looking for a West End Theatre for 2016, with the Prince Edward (part of Cameron Mackintosh’s Delfont Mackintosh theatre group – whom Schumacher worked with on Mary Poppins) being the favourite venue, but looking unlikely now that Miss Saigon is nicely bedded in.
