Producers of the West End premiere of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry have announced full casting.
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry is playing a limited run at Theatre Royal Haymarket in London from 29 January to 18 April 2026.
The acclaimed new musical is based on Rachel Joyce’s best-selling novel and features music and lyrics by Mike Rosenberg known professionally as Passenger.
Already announced, the West End production reunites Mark Addy (The Full Monty, Game of Thrones) and Jenna Russell (Sunday in the Park with George, Hello, Dolly!) who reprise their roles as Harold and Maureen Fry from the show’s acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre run.
Also, Noah Mullins (Hadestown, Rent, Jagged Little Pill) will make his West End debut starring as The Balladeer.
The cast also includes Peter Polycarpou as Rex, Locum and Ensemble, and Maggie Service as Queenie Hennessey, Fairy Assistant, Gorilla and Ensemble.
The cast is completed by Craig Armstrong (Rich and Ensemble), Jenna Boyd (Sister Philomena, Farmer’s Wife, Rita and Ensemble), Daniel Crossley (Silver Haired Gentleman, Napier and Ensemble), Nell Martin (Young Maureen, Deliveroo and Ensemble), Nicole Nyarambi (Garage Girl and Ensemble), Gleanne Purcell-Brown (Kate, Betsy, Kind Customer and Ensemble), Ashley Samuels (Wilf, Jim and Ensemble), Madeleine Worrall (Martina and Ensemble), and Timo Tatzber (Dog, Young Harold, Ensemble and Puppet Captain).
The Swings are Gemma Atkins, Olivia Foster-Browne, Ediz Mahmut, and Edwin Ray (Swing, Trainer Man and Dance Captain).

Adapted by Rachel Joyce from her internationally acclaimed novel, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry tells the story of an ordinary man who embarks on an extraordinary journey across England, discovering love, loss and redemption along the way.

What’s on at the Theatre Royal Haymarket
Currently playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket is a new production of Othello starring David Harewood, Toby Jones & Caitlin FitzGerald, running until 17 January 2026. This will be followed by Harold Fry, and then David Hare’s new play Grace Pervades starring Ralph Fiennes and Miranda Raison
