The National Theatre in London has announced full casting for its forthcoming revival of Terence Rattigan’s Man and Boy.
Man and Boy is playing in the Dorfman Theatre of the National Theatre from 30 January to 14 March 2026.
This new contemporary production of Terence Rattigan’s tale of fatherhood and corruption is directed by Anthony Lau (The Crucible).
Already announced in the cast are Ben Daniels (The Normal Heart) as Gregor Antonescu, and Laurie Kynaston (Long Day’s Journey into Night) as his son Basil Anthony, with Phoebe Campbell (House of the Dragon) as Carol Penn, Isabella Laughland (The Vortex) as Countess Antonescu, Malcolm Sinclair (Pressure) as Mark Herries and Leo Wan (Chariots of Fire) as David Beeston.
Joining them will be Nick Fletcher (Our Country’s Good, Minority Report) as Sven Johnson.
Set in the 1930s New York City, international financier Gregor Antonescu’s luck has finally run out. As news of a catastrophic business deal ripples across the world, he flees to the apartment of his estranged son Basil.
Truths are uncovered and relationships are tested as Gregor gets down to business, to save his reputation and keep his empire from collapse.
Joining director Anthony Lau in the creative team are set and costume designer Georgia Lowe, lighting designer Elliot Griggs, intimacy director Haruka Kuroda, choreographer and movement director Aline David, composer Angus MacRae, sound designer Giles Thomas, casting director Martin Poile CDG, dialect coach Aundrea Fudge and staff director Rachel Lemon.
