Masquerade, the immersive spin-off of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, has released its first production photos.

Masquerade’s first performance was on 31 July 2025 at 218 W. 57th Street in New York, and the show has now extended booking again, this time to 1 February 2026.

Directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin), the show brings a new perspective to Lloyd Webber’s much-loved musical The Phantom of the Opera.

The first-look photos include an exclusive portrait of all six Phantoms, released for the first time, and featuring Hugh Panaro, Nik Walker, Jeff Kready, Clay Singer, Telly Leung, and Kyle Scatliffe.

Masquerade blurs the lines of reality, bringing audiences inside and closer than ever before to the strange affair of The Phantom of the Opera – a mystery never fully explained.

From the highest rooftop to the subterranean lair deep below the Opera Populaire, guests are invited to experience the Music Of The Night more intimately than ever before. And when the iconic chandelier rises again above New York City, it provides more than just “a little illumination,” with a dazzling display of over 30,000 crystals provided by Preciosa.

Guests attending Masquerade are invited to “dress extravagantly” and “hide your face” as they move through the building.

Masquerade is based on the original musical The Phantom of the Opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart, additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe and book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Masquerade is presented by arrangement with LW Entertainment.

Alongside Diane Paulus, the creative team includes Rosario Arcuri, Shai Baitel, Hunter Bird, Yeman Brown, Alan Busch Jr., Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Kathy Fabian, James Fluhr, Jessie Flynn, Nicola Formichetti, Skylar Fox, Chris Habana, J. J. Janas, Brett Jarvis, Marc Kimelman, Kate Lumpkin, Lee McCutcheon, Scott Pask, Alicia Rodis, Gypsy Snider, Emilio Sosa, Tori Sparks, Ben Stanton, Mike Tyus, David Andrew Wilson, and William Waldrop.

Phantom closed on Broadway in February 2023 after celebrating its 35th anniversary in January. Phantom closing on Broadway was a blow to Lloyd Webber, both personally and commercially, with his licensing and production company, formerly the Really Useful Group and now called LW Entertainment, seeing its profits hit by the closure.

Masquerade is playing at 218 W. 57th Street in New York.

The Phantom of the Opera celebrates its 40th anniversary in London next year, in October 2026.
