The Old Vic has revealed full casting for the UK premiere of Tracy Letts’ Mary Page Marlowe.

Daniella Arthur-Kennedy (professional stage debut) as Lorna, Eden Epstein (Leopoldstadt, Broadway) as Roberta Marlowe, Clare Hughes (Ladies in Black) as Wendy Gilbert, Gilbert Kyem Jnr (Rivals) as Ben, Melanie La Barrie (Hadestown, & Juliet) as Nurse, Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean) as Mary Page Marlowe, Kingsley Morton (The Addams Family, UK Tour) as Connie, Hugh Quarshie (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace) as Andy, Ronan Raftery (Obituary) as Dan, Paul Thornley (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, West End/Broadway) as Ray, Lauren Ward (Matilda the Musical, West End/Broadway) as Shrink, Noah Weatherby (Too Much) as Ed Marlowe, Alisha Weir (Matilda the Musical) as Mary Page Marlowe, and Eleanor Worthington-Cox (Next to Normal, West End) as Mary Page Marlowe. The role of Louis will be shared by Felix Anderson, Griffin Ashton and Dexter Pulling.

Directed by Matthew Warchus, the production runs from 23 September to 1 November 2025 and will mark Sarandon’s UK stage debut and Riseborough’s return to theatre after 15 years.
Written by Pulitzer prize-winner Tracy Letts, the play charts the life of its title character across 70 years in 11 scenes, portrayed by five actors. Sarandon and Riseborough will each take on the role at different stages of Mary’s life, with further casting to be announced.
First premiering at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago in 2016, Mary Page Marlowe eschews linear biography in favour of a fragmented, time-hopping structure – forming a collage of a woman’s inner and outer life, with moments that are tragic, mundane, revelatory, and intensely human.
The production features design by Rob Howell, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker, and casting by Jim Carnahan CSA and Sam Stevenson CDG, Children’s Casting by Amy Beadel CDG, Dialect by Penny Dyer and Voice by Charlie Hughes D’Aeth. Lilac Yosiphon is the Associate Director, Associate Sound by Emma Laxton, Associate Costume by Lucy Gaiger, Wigs, Hair & Make-Up Supervisor by Campbell Young Associates.
Mary Page Marlowe is running at The Old Vic from 23 September to 1 November 2025.
Currently playing at The Old Vic is Girl From The North Country until 23 August 2025.
