Tickets now on sale for Clarkston at London’s Trafalgar Theatre starring Joe Locke, Ruaridh Mollica & Sophie Melville
The West End premiere of Clarkston, Samuel D. Hunter’s modern‑day frontier drama led by Heartstopper breakout Joe Locke, has put its autumn run at Trafalgar Theatre on sale today.
The award‑winning American playwright behind The Whale brings his 2015 hit to London for a strictly limited 9‑week engagement from 17 September to 22 November 2025.
Joe Locke is joined by Ruaridh Mollica (Sebastian, The Franchise) and Sophie Melville (The Way, Cowbois, Iphigenia in Splott), under the direction of Drama Desk winner Jack Serio (Uncle Vanya).
Set against the fluorescent glow of a rural Costco, Clarkston follows restless traveller Jake and night‑shift lifer Chris as they search for meaning – much like American explorers Lewis and Clark – on an unexpectedly epic journey of friendship, identity and hope.
Hunter’s script received the Edgerton Foundation New Play Award, placing it in the company of shows such as Next to Normal. The London production marks Locke’s first appearance on a UK stage since his 2022 Donmar Warehouse debut in The Trials, which earned him the 2023 WhatsOnStage Best Professional Debut award. Since then, he has headlined Broadway’s Sweeney Todd and is currently filming the finale of Netflix phenomenon Heartstopper.
Clarkston lands at Trafalgar Theatre immediately after the summer run of Clueless The Musical concludes on 23 August.
Clarkston is playing at Trafalgar Theatre in London from 17 September to 22 November 2025.
