Successful West End and touring company ROYO (Here & Now, Kinky Boots), and experiences and live shows producer Path Entertainment Group (Monopoly Lifesized, The Paddington Bear Experience) are joining forces for a new performance space in central London.
The 220-seater underground space is currently home to nightclub musical Oscar at the Crown, and is located beneath Monopoly Lifesized at 213-215 Tottenham Court Road.
The partners intend the space, which is as-yet-unnamed, to showcase new musicals, and rehearsed readings, late-night events and workshops. The news was first announced by The Stage.
Oscar at the Crown, which is produced by ROYO and Path, fuses dystopian storytelling with nightclub energy and is a genre-defying part-musical, part-dance party. The London production is written by and stars Mark Mauriello as infamous writer Oscar Wilde, with Elizabeth Chalmers reprising her performance from the acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe production of the show as Wilde’s wife, Constance Lloyd. ROYO is a fast-growing West End and touring producer. Their current shows include Here & Now – The Steps Musical and Kinky Boots, which announced last week that it is coming to the West End’s London Coliseum next year starring Johannes Radebe.
Coming up, ROYO is producing a big new UK and Ireland tour of Legally Blonde The Musical, and the UK premiere of 13 Going on 30 The Musical in Manchester starring Lucie Jones.
Path Entertainment Group is a London-based company made up of two divisions: Gamepath, specialising in themed competitive socialising attractions such as Monopoly Lifesized, based at 213-15 Tottenham Court Road; and Showpath, which produces live stage shows, with recent credits including The SpongeBob Musical. Path also produces The Paddington Bear Experience at London County Hall.
