Full casting has been announced for the world premiere of That Bastard, Puccini! at the Park Theatre in London.
Written by James Inverne (A Walk With Mr Heifetz), this new comedy-drama is playing at the Park Theatre from 10 July to 9 August 2025.
That Bastard, Puccini! will star Alasdair Buchan (The Mousetrap, West End) as Leoncavallo and Sebastien Torkia (Dracula – A Comedy of Terrors, Menier Chocolate Factory) as Giacomo Puccini, with Lisa-Anne Wood (Wicked, West End) as Berthe.
The show brings to life a hilarious and captivating tale of musical plagiarism, fierce competition and an explosive rivalry between two of opera’s legendary composers, in Giacomo Puccini and Ruggero Leoncavallo’s race to claim La Bohème as their own, leading to a scandalous ‘battle of the Bohemes’, as each created his own version.
Directed by opera and theatre director Daniel Slater (Santa Fe Opera), the creative team also includes set and costume design by Carly Brownbridge, lighting design by Katy Morison, and sound design by Yvonne Gilbert.
That Bastard, Puccini! is running at the Park Theatre from 10 July to 9 August 2025.
