The King’s Head Theatre in London has announced a revival of comedy Four Play by Jake Brunger.
Jake Brunger is the acclaimed writer and lyricist behind musicals including The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13¾, and The Great British Bake Off: The Musical.
The queer comedy will run at the King’s Head from 11 July to 16 August 2025.
An all-star cast includes Daniel Bravo (Mean Girls) as Michael, Lewis Cornay (The Spongebob Musical) as Rafe, Jo Foster (Why Am I So Single?) as Andy, and Zheng Xi Yong (Your Lie in April) as Pete. The cover is Jack Gibson.

Directed by Jack Sain (Reverberation – Bristol Old Vic), this provocative comedy interrogates the unspoken rules of modern relationships and the fragile balance between intimacy and freedom.
Joining Jack Sain in the creative team are: Original Music by Benedict Cork; Set & Costume Designer Peiyao Wang; Movement Director Charlie Martin; Lighting Designer Daniel Carter-Brennan; Sound Designer Julian Starr; Casting Director Nicholas Hockaday; Production Management Jack Boissieux for JBPM; and General Management by DEM Productions.
Four Play was first performed at The Old Vic, and the King’s Head production marks its first major revival.
Writer Jake Brunger said in a statement: “I’m honestly so thrilled that Four Play is returning to London ten years after its world premiere at the Old Vic Theatre. I’ve made a few little tweaks to the play to bring it bang up to date to reflect the ever-changing nature of queer relationships today. As someone predominantly known for being a musical theatre writer, I’m particularly delighted that we’ve found a cast of actors who are also mostly known for their work in that genre. I can’t wait to see them in action!”
Director Jack Sain said: “It’s a joy to be reuniting with Jake and to be heading into rehearsals with this breathtaking cast and creative team. Four Play may exist within a queer universe, but its questions are universal. Where do we draw the line? What is human nature and what is social construct? And are we all, ultimately, destined to own a display-only Diptyque candle? Four Play is a chaotic cuddle of a play, full of catty cackles, crises and caresses: we cannot wait to bring it to the King’s Head stage.”
This production is produced by DEM Productions, King’s Head Theatre Productions, and the Angels of Angel.
Four Play is running at the King’s Head Theatre in London from 11 July to 16 August 2025.
