Lock up your puppies! Cruella de Vil is coming to London this summer, played by Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas.
Following Sydnie’s incredible win last year on Britain’s Got Talent, producers of the London run of 101 Dalmatians The Musical have confirmed that Sydnie will play the iconic role of Cruella de Vil in the show when it comes to the Eventim Apollo in London this summer.
101 Dalmatians: The Musical will take over the Eventim Apollo in London for six weeks only, from 18 July to 30 August 2025.
Sydnie Christmas said in a statement: “I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this iconic character! There’s a bit of me that I see in Cruella, so I’m excited to see her evolve…”
Sydnie wowed the nation last year when her powerhouse vocals saw her win Britain’s Got Talent, leading her to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of King Charles III. Her debut album, My Way, is top of the iTunes charts in both the UK and the US, and she recently performed a sold-out New York debut at Sony Hall and a performance at David Foster’s 75th birthday celebration at the Hollywood Bowl.
Sydnie made her professional debut in Lazarus – The David Bowie Musical in London, and most recently appeared in Starlight Express in Germany. Read more about Syndie Christmas.
101 Dalmatians follows the daring adventures of Pongo and Perdi, two protective Dalmatian parents who must rescue their puppies from the infamous fashionista Cruella. Determined to create the ultimate fur coat, Cruella’s villainous plans drive the musical’s suspense, promising audiences a mix of humour, heart, and high-stakes drama.
Dodie Smith’s timeless canine adventure barks into life in this dazzling stage production, featuring impressive puppetry, joyous choreography, and catchy original songs.
The musical is adapted for the stage by Zinnie Harris, and boasts songs by Douglas Hodge and a book by Johnny McKnight.
The production started at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2022 starring Kate Fleetwood, garnering enthusiastic reviews from the critics, and toured the UK and Ireland last year with Cruella played by Kym Marsh (Coronation Street), Faye Tozer (Steps) and Kerry Ellis (Wicked).
Further casting for the London run is to be announced.
101 Dalmatians The Musical was originally adapted for the stage by Zinnie Harris (The Duchess of Malfi), and has music and lyrics by Douglas Hodge, and a book by Johnny McKnight.
