Disney has announced that its pro-shot of Frozen The Musical – the West End stage show version of Frozen – is coming to Disney Plus in June.
The West End production of Frozen starring Samantha Barks as Elsa and Laura Dawkes as Anna will premiere on Disney+ on Friday 20 June 2025.
The show closed at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London on 8 September 2024.
News of the pro-shot first came last August at Disney’s annual D23 fan event in California, which included a special performance of “Let It Go” sung by star of the London show, Samantha Barks.
Frozen has music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Up Here, Winnie the Pooh, In Transit) and Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon, Up Here), and a book by Jennifer Lee (Zootopia, Wreck-It Ralph).

The director of the Broadway and West End musical version of Frozen was Olivier and Tony Award winner Michael Grandage (My Master Builder, Red, Merrily We Roll Along), choreographed by Tony Award winner Rob Ashford (Thoroughly Modern Millie).
The animated movie of Frozen won the 2014 Oscar for Best Song for ‘Let It Go’, and Best Animated Feature.
The stage show features 12 new songs written especially for the musical, alongside classics such as ‘For the First Time in Forever,’ ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’ and ‘Let it Go.’
The cast of the West End production of Frozen, who feature in the Disney Plus film, include Samantha Barks as Elsa; Laura Dawkes as Anna; Jammy Kasongo as Kristoff; Craig Gallivan as Olaf; Oliver Ormson as Hans; Richard Frame as Duke of Weselton; Ben Irish as Pabbie, and Lizzy-Rose Esin-Kelly as Bulda; Jak Skelly as Oaken (and Bishop); Jacqui Sanchez as Elsa and Anna’s mother, Queen Iduna; Ashley J Daniels as their father, King Agnarr; and alternating the role of Sven is Mikayla Jade and Ashley Birchall.
Young Elsa is Elizabeth Lyons, and Young Anna is Martha Bailey Vine.
The cast also features Rhianne Alleyne, Marianne Bardgett, Rebecca Botterill, Gabrielle Cocca, Laura Emmitt, Jemal Felix, Jordan Fox, Molly Francis, Matt Gillett, Dominic Adam Griffin, Jordan Livesey, Isabella Glanznig Santos, Justin-Lee Jones, Aoife Kenny, Harriet Samuels, Caitlin Tipping, Anna Woodside, Rodney Vubya, Oliver Brenin, George Hinson, Jonathan Milton, and Ed Wade.
The creative team for Frozen also includes set and costume design by Christopher Oram, lighting design by Neil Austin, sound design by Peter Hylenski, video design by Finn Ross, puppet design by Michael Curry and musical supervision and arrangements by Stephen Oremus.
Disney musicals currently playing in London include Disney’s The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre.
Coming up is Disney’s musical Hercules, which gets its UK premiere at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London from 6 June 2025.
Disney is also working on a new stage adaptation of hit movie The Greatest Showman, with The Greatest Showman The New Musical potentially hitting the London stage next year.
