A new drag-powered musical celebrating the life and legacy of Princess Diana is set to make its world premiere at HERE at Outernet this summer.

The Diana Mixtape will star drag icons Courtney Act, Baby, Divina De Campo, Rosé and Kitty Scott-Claus in a bold new show billed as “a high-octane royal romp” and “a love letter to Diana and her legacy” — with each performer taking on the role of Diana herself. Further casting for the roles of Charles, Camilla, The Queen and more are to be announced.

Running from 28 July to 10 August 2025 in London, and transferring to The Lowry, Salford for a limited engagement from 19 to 24 August, the production is the latest creation from Christopher D. Clegg, the producer behind Death Drop, Gals Aloud, and Cool Rider. Blending elements of concert, musical theatre, and biopic, the show features a soundtrack packed with pop anthems from artists such as Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa and Kylie Minogue.

Creator, writer and director Clegg describes The Diana Mixtape as “the lovechild of SIX, & Juliet, The Crown, and Drag Race,” promising a “fierce and fabulous” celebration of Diana’s enduring cultural impact. “It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before,” he said. “With a cast of 13 actors, dancers and drag queens, and a score of pop bangers, this retelling of the iconic story of the People’s Princess is as loving and heartfelt as it is outrageous and fun.”

Divina De Campo, whose theatrical stage credits include Chicago and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, expressed excitement to be “sharing the stage with so many other wonderful performers,” while Rosé, a finalist on RuPaul’s Drag Race US, added, “What a thrill to be portraying actual royalty amongst drag royalty. I shaved my bloody moustache for this, so consider it MAJOR!”

Kitty Scott-Claus, who most recently was runner up on Drag Race Global All Stars, said, “Playing the people’s princess- sounds camp I’m in. Beyond thrilled to be back with Tuckshop working on this incredible show- I’m so excited for the craziness.”

The creative team includes musical director and arranger Matthew Harvey, choreographer Taz Hoesli, costume designer River Smith, and lighting designer Toby P. Darvill. Dramaturgy is by Geri Allen, with video design from Adam Nightingale and Christopher D. Clegg, who also co-produces with Walport Productions under the TuckShop banner.

TuckShop, founded by Clegg, has been instrumental in bringing drag to the mainstream UK stage, with a West End presence each year since 2019. Previous produciton include Death Drop, Cool Rider and Gals Aloun.

The Diana Mixtape runs from 28 July to 10 August 2025 at HERE at Outernet, followed by 19 to 24 August at The Lowry, Salford Manchester.
