The brand new musical is now playing at the Manchester Opera House, based on the smash-hit movie A Knight’s Tale starring Heath Ledger and Paul Bettany, written and directed by Brian Helgeland (LA Confidential).
New in are the first production photos for A Knight’s Tale, which is playing in Manchester until 10 May 2025. There’s no current news about a West End run, or UK tour, for the musical.

The role of Young William will be shared by Cristian Buttaci, Cristiano Cuino, Nicholas Teixeira and Theo Wake.
Songs in the show are to be announced, but promise to include a selection of rock and pop bangers! The songlist of A Knight’s Tale the movie included Queen’s We Will Rock You, Eric Clapton’s Further on Up the Road, Robbie Williams & Queen’s We Are the Champions.

A Knight’s Tale The Musical has been adapted for the stage by Irish actor and comedy writer Brona C Titley (Motherland), and is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh (Clueless The Musical, The Great British Bake Off Musical, Here & Now – The Steps Musical), with choreography by Olivier Award-winning Matt Cole (Newsies, The Baker’s Wife).
Also in the creative team are: Musical Supervision, Orchestrations, Arrangements & Additional Music by Simon Hale, set design by Tom Rogers, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Matt Peploe, musical direction by Alan Berry, casting by Lucy Casson, children’s casting and children’s general management by Keston and Keston, performer flying by Suspended Illusions, intimacy direction by Lucy Hind and production management by Matthew Ledbury and Esme Driscoll.
