Olivier Award-winner Andrew Scott has arrived in New York ready for first performance of VANYA this Monday, 10 March 2025.
In a new video, Andrew Scott is interviewed outside the historic Lucille Lortel Theatre in New York, where the acclaimed production is playing from 10 March to 11 May 2025.
VANYA is a radical new adaptation of Chekhov’s masterwork Uncle Vanya, by Simon Stephens. The production enjoyed a sold-out run at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London in September and October 2023, scoring impressive reviews from the London critics.
The New York transfer is once again directed by Sam Yates and designed by Rosanna Vize.
Andrew Scott’s understudy in the show is Marianna Gailus (Patriots).
Andrew Scott said in a statement: “I’m so honored to be in this historic theatre on this historic street, and really excited by how intimate it is. I genuinely believe this is a masterpiece of a play, and I don’t use that word lightly.”
