Since its debut in 1999, Mamma Mia!—conceived and produced by Judy Craymer—has become a global phenomenon, blending ABBA’s timeless music with a heartwarming story of family and love set on a sun-drenched Greek island. Featuring hits like Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, and The Winner Takes It All, the musical continues to be a huge hit with audiences worldwide.
Now in its 26th year, Mamma Mia! has been seen by over 70 million people globally and has played more than 10,000 performances in London’s West End alone. The international tour has visited 42 countries, performed over 3,750 shows, and captivated 7.3 million audience members. The musical’s success also led to two hit films, Mamma Mia! The Movie (2008) and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), featuring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried, and Cher.
Mamma Mia! has music and lyrics by ABBA’s Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus, and is written by Catherine Johnson.
Mamma Mia! also continues its run at the Novello Theatre in London, now booking to 27 September 2025.
