ITV’s smash-hit talent show The Masked Singer has crowned its winner for 2025.
Pufferfish has been revealed as the winner of Season 6, and unmasked for the first time as a huge West End theatre star.
Audiences have been guessing for weeks over the identity of Pufferfish, with her incredible singing voice.
And Pufferfish is none other than West End legend Samantha Barks.
Samantha Barks, who first found fame as a finalist on TV talent show I’d Do Anything, was recently starring in Disney’s Frozen at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Her other West End roles include Les Miserables, The Last Five Years; and City of Angels. Barks also starred in the big screen adaptation of Les Miserables.
Riding on the success of her win, Samantha is set to play a major new solo concert at the London Palladium this April, with Samantha Barks singing songs from some of her biggest shows, plus new material. You can now book tickets to Samantha Barks Live at the London Palladium.
Last year, Barks was a judge on Mamma Mia! talent search Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream.
Pufferfish beat strong competition from Dressed Crab and Wolf, who were also revealed a big stars.
Samantha Barks’ identify shocked the panel of judges – Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama and guest judge Danny Jones.
Samantha said to the panel: “I’ve had the best time, I’ve had the best time. Underneath the mask I’ve been smiling the whole time.”
Runner up Dressed Crab was unmasked to be jazz star Gregory Porter; and Wolf was revealed to be 80s singing sensation Marti Pellow from Wet Wet Wet.
All three of the finalists had duets with previous Masked Singer contestants and winners including Claire Richards from Steps, last year’s champion Danny Jones as Piranha, and Broadway and West End star Keala Settle from The Greatest Showman, who came back as Air Fryer!
If you enjoyed Samantha’s performance, then there will soon be another chance to see her sing: Samantha Barks’ performance as Elsa in the West End production of Disney’s Frozen has been filmed, and will be shown on Disney+, although a date for the TV premiere is yet to be announced.
