This year’s major new production of Miss Saigon has announced further dates for its 2025 and 2026 UK & Ireland tour.

The tour starts at Newcastle Theatre Royal on 4 October 2025, and then visits Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, and Oxford.

Announced today are new dates for the 2026 leg of the tour, including Llandudno, Hull, Southampton, Plymouth, Aberdeen, Belfast, and Nottingham.

Ireland dates are to be announced soon, along with casting and further creatives.

Boublil and Schönberg’s epic musical is produced by Michael Harrison (Starlight Express, Hello, Dolly!) in association with Miss Saigon’s original producer, Cameron Mackintosh (Les Miserables, Mary Poppins).

The production marks 35 years since Miss Saigon first premiered in the West End, and is directed by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy (Les Misérables: The Staged Concert, Barnum), who recently directed Opera Australia’s successful production of Miss Saigon, and has co-directed Cameron Mackintosh’s new West End production of Oliver! with Matthew Bourne.

The full creative team has also been announced, including: Co-choreographers Chrissie Cartwright (CATS, The Phantom of the Opera) and Carrie-Anne Ingrouille (SIX The Musical); Set and costume designer Andrew Edwards (Tartuffe); Lighting Designer Bruno Poet (Tina – The Tina Turner Musical); Sound Design by Adam Fisher (Oliver!); Video design by George Reeve (Disney’s Hercules); Musical supervisor Graham Hurman; and Casting director Sarah Leung CDG. The production is overseen by Cameron Mackintosh.

Miss Saigon has music by Claude-Michel Schönberg with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and Alain Boublil, adapted from original French lyrics by Alain Boublil, with additional lyrics by Michael Mahler. Orchestrations are by William David Brohn.

The show is set during the last days of the Vietnam War, when 17-year-old Kim is forced to work in a Saigon bar run by a notorious character known as The Engineer. There she meets and falls in love with an American GI named Chris, but they are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. For 3 years Kim goes on an epic journey of survival to find her way back to Chris, who has no idea he’s fathered a son.

Miss Saigon has been performed in 33 countries, 378 cities in 15 different languages, has won 75 major awards including 2 Olivier Awards, 3 Tony Awards, and 4 Drama Desk Awards and has been seen by over 38 million people worldwide.

The show premiered in London at the West End’s Prince Edward Theatre in 1989, and returned to the theatre for a revised production in 2014. Miss Saigon last toured the UK in 2017.

Cameron Mackintosh’s productions currently include Les Miserables, Hamilton and The Phantom of the Opera in the West End; and Mary Poppins, Hamilton and Les Miserables The Arena Spectacular on tour.

Michael Harrison’s current London productions include musical parody Titanique at the Criterion Theatre, and Starlight Express at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre; and coming up, Evita at the London Palladium. On tour, Harrison is producing War Horse, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
