Production photos are out for the RSC’s London transfer of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Barbican Theatre.

Part of the RSC’s Winter Season at the Barbican, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is directed by Eleanor Rhodes.

The production stars Mathew Baynton (Ghosts, Horrible Histories) as Bottom, with Andrew Richardson (Guys and Dolls) as Oberon/Theseus, and Katherine Pearce (Waterloo Road), as Puck.

The cast also includes Alexander Bellinfantie as Moth, Eliza Smith as Mustardseed, Natalie Thomas as Peaseblossom, Nicholas Armfield as Demetrius, Emily Cundick as Snout, Esme Hough as Cobweb, Ryan Hutton as Lysander, Laurie Jamieson as Snug, Neil McCaul as Egeus, Helen Monks as Rita Quince, Adrian Richards as Philostrate, Boadicea Ricketts as Helena, Sirine Saba as Titania/Hippolyta, Dawn Sievewright as Hermia, Mitesh Soni as Flute, and Premi Tamang as Starveling.

The creative team for the production also includes Set and Costume Designer Lucy Osborne; Illusion Director and Designer John Bulleid; Lighting Designer Matt Daw; Composer Will Gregory; Sound Designer Pete Malkin; Movement Director Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster; Fight and Intimacy Directors Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown; and Casting Director Matthew Dewsbury CDG.

The gala opening night for the show took place last night, 11 December 2024, with guests including Mathew Baynton’s fellow Ghosts and Horrible Histories cast members Lolly Adefope, Simon Farnaby, Jim Howick, Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe; plus Rory Kinnear, Adrian Lester and Reece Shearsmith.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is now playing at the Barbican to 18 January 2025.
