Jamie Lloyd’s revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita has been formally announced for the London Palladium.

Evita will run at the London Palladium from 14 June to 6 September 2025, produced by Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals and The Jamie Lloyd Company with The Really Useful Group.

Full casting and creatives are to be announced.

Jamie Lloyd (Sunset BoulevardA Doll’s HouseThe Tempest) originally directed Evita at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre as part of their 2019 season. It’s unclear whether the Palladium production will be an exact copy of the Regent’s Park revival, or updated. The Palladium production is billed as “reimagined by the visionary award-winning director Jamie Lloyd.”

The Regent’s Park production starred Samantha Pauly as Eva Peron, and had planned to transfer to the Barbican in June 2020 although was derailed because of Covid.

The production was first revealed back in October, in an interview with Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Jamie Lloyd’s current production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard starring Nicole Scherzinger has proved hugely successful, both last year in the West End at the Savoy Theatre, and currently on Broadway at the St James Theatre, where the show opened last month to mostly rave reviews.

Producer Michael Harrison said in a statement: “It’s an honour to return to The London Palladium next summer, with my 14th production at the theatre. I’m even more delighted, alongside The Jamie Lloyd Company, to be presenting Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s glorious musical, Evita, and to be collaborating again with Jamie following Sunset Blvd.”

Director Jamie Lloyd said: “After an unforgettable experience on Sunset Blvd., we are excited to continue our collaboration with Andrew Lloyd Webber, and to take another look at Tim and Andrew’s musical masterpiece Evita. It is a great privilege to do so at the incredible London Palladium alongside Michael Harrison.”

The rags to riches story of Argentina’s first lady Eva Peron features musical numbers including “You Must Love Me”, “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”, “Oh! What A Circus”, and “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”.

Evita is playing at the London Palladium from 14 June to 6 September 2025.

Jamie Lloyd’s production of The Tempest starring Sigourney Weaver is currently playing at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane until 1 February 2025; followed by Much Ado About Nothing starring Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell.

Other Andrew Lloyd Webber shows currently playing in London are The Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty’s Theatre, and Starlight Express at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre.
