A new musical is coming to the West End’s Savoy Theatre this April for a one-night-only concert.

Acclaimed musical theatre composer Drew Gasparini’s new contemporary musical We Aren’t Kids Anymore is getting its world premiere at the Savoy Theatre on 28 April 2025.

The cast will feature Olivier Award-winner Sam Tutty (Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York, Dear Evan Hansen) and West End leading lady Aimie Atkinson (SIX The Musical, Pretty Woman), with further casting to be announced.

We Aren’t Kids Anymore has a book, music and lyrics by Drew Gasparini, and will be directed by Richard Fitch.

The wider creative team includes choreography by Chris Cuming, musical supervision and direction by Lauren Hopkinson, orchestrations and arrangements by Drew Gasparini and Lauren Hopkinson, and Casting Director Sarah Jane Price. The show is produced by End of the Pier Productions in association with Norwich Theatre.

We Aren’t Kids Anymore promises to be a dynamic and thoughtful musical exploring the profound feeling of never truly growing up, and the complexities of having a dream, chasing that dream, and the rocky path between the two.

The story is told from 5 distinct perspectives, crossing age, generation and gender.

This concert performance follows a successful workshop in June 2024, which marked the first stage presentation of Gasparini’s viral concept album for the show.

Following the concert performance of We Aren’t Kids Anymore, the second act of the night will see Gasparini in concert, presenting some of the best work from his extensive musical career. Gasparini and the cast will be joined by some special invited guests, to be announced.

Drew Gasparini is best known for writing songs for season 2 of Smash, as well as the scores for the Broadway musicals The Karate Kid The Musical, and It’s Kind of a Funny Story.

Sam Tutty said in a statement: “I am so excited to be working on this project – I am familiar with Drew and his work and to be working with him is truly wonderful. I can’t wait to explore the work on this project and see what the team and I can make together!”

Aimie Atkinson said: “I’m so excited to be a part of this fantastic new musical. I cannot wait for audiences to see this new exciting show.”

We Aren’t Kids Anymore is playing at the Savoy Theatre on 28 April 2025.

Tickets go on sale on 4 December 2024.

Currently playing at the Savoy Theatre is Mean Girls, booking to 8 June 2025.

Aimie Atkinson is also starring in a concert premiere of Figaro An Original Musical at the London Palladium on 3 and 4 February 2025.
