Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is now playing at the Almeida Theatre to 1 February 2025. The production opened last month, with some impressive reviews from London’s theatre critics.
The play stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People; Twisters), Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley: One Love; Barbie) and Lennie James (Snatch, Blade Runner 2049).
New in is a video clip released by the Almeida, featuring a scene from the play between Daisy Edgar Jones as Maggie and Kingsley Ben-Adir as Brick.

The full cast also includes Guy Burgess, Clare Burt, Seb Carrington, Derek Hagen, Ukweli Roach and Ria Zmitrowicz.
Joining Rebecca Frecknall in the creative team for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is Set Designer Chloe Lamford, Costume Designer Moi Tran, Lighting Designer Lee Curran, Sound Designer Carolyn Downing, Composer Angus MacRae, Casting Director Julia Horan CDG, Children’s Casting Director Amy Beadel, and Associate Director Justina Kehinde.

In the video, director Rebecca Frecknall (Cabaret) confirms that this production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is the third in a trilogy of Tennessee Williams plays that she has wanted to direct, following her award-winning productions of Summer and Smoke and A Streetcar Named Desire.
On describing the play and its place within the trilogy of Williams’ plays, Rebecca Frecknall says in the video that, “Summer and Smoke is science versus spirits, and Streetcar is reality versus magic, and it feels to me like Cat is about truth and lies”.

The play is produced by the Almeida in association with Chris Harper Productions.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is playing at the Almeida Theatre from 10 December 2024 to 1 February 2025.
Rebecca Frecknall’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire is also returning to London this year. Starring Oscar nominee and BAFTA-winner Paul Mescal (Gladiator 2, Aftersun, Normal People) in his Olivier Award-winning role as Stanley, alongside Olivier Award winner Patsy Ferran (Summer and Smoke) as Blanche, and Olivier Award winner Anjana Vasan (Wicked Little Letters, We Are Lady Parts) as Stella, A Streetcar Named Desire will play the Noel Coward Theatre from 3 to 22 February 2025.
