New musical The Creakers, based on Tom Fletcher’s hit book, has announced casting ahead of its premiere and London run.
The cast of The Creakers features Rakesh Boury as Larry/Creaker King, Alisha Capon as Onstage Swing, Cover Ella, Matthew Caputo as Mario/Buzz/Grunt, Eloise Davies as Lucy, Liam Dean as Onstage Swing, Iona Fraser as Ella Kim Healey as Betty Quirk/Cassie/Barf, David-Michael Johnson as Mayor/Bulge, Ally Kennard as Norman, Ed Larkin as William/Mr Grubb/Squelch, Anu Ogunmefun as Mrs Cobblesmith/Buddy/Scratch, Verity Power as Mrs McNab/Brenda/Belch, Edwin Ray as Piers/Snoregan/Toby/Guff and Timo Tatzber as Daniel/Max/Sniff.
The magical musical adventure is adapted by Miranda Larson, based on singer-songwriter and author Tom Fletcher’s book. Fletcher has written a number of successful children’s books including the Christmasaurus series, The Danger Gang, Space Band and The Creakers.
The show will have its world premiere season at the Theatre Royal Plymouth from 25 October to 2 November 2024, and then transfer to the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, playing from 18 December 2024 to 5 January 2025.
The Creakers is adapted for the stage by writer Miranda Larson (Angelina Ballerina), with music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, and direction and choreography by Tom Jackson Greaves (Whistle Down The Wind, Priscilla Queen of the Desert).
Additional compositions are by McFly’s Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter, and the show is co-written with Steve Battelle, with orchestrations by the Grammy Award Winning and Tony Nominated musician Steve Sidwell.
The creative team also includes Andrew Exeter (Set Designer), Ryan Dawson Laight (Costume Designer), Rory Beaton (Lighting Designer), Alexandra Braithwaite (Sound Designer), Richard Healey (Music Supervisor and Musical Arrangements) Natalie Pound (Musical Director), Sarah Wright (Puppetry Director), Lyndie Wright (Puppetry Designer), Nick Hockaday (Casting Director), Mark Crossland (Orchestral Manager), Priya Patel Appleby (Associate Director), Maiya Leeke (Associate Choreographer) and Fahmida Bahkt (Props Supervisor).
The Creakers is playing at the Queen Elizabeth Hall from 18 December 2024 to 5 January 2025.
