Shakespeare’s Globe in London has revealed a brand new season of productions for their Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.
The new season runs from October 2024 to April 2025.
Highlights include a new production of Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well from 8 November 2024 to 4 January 2025, directed by Chelsea Walker.
Shakespeare’s Cymbeline will play in the Sam Wanamaker from 10 January to 20 April 2025, directed by Jennifer Tang.
Also, the world premiere of Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov, in a new translation by playwright Rory Mullarkey, will run from 31 January to 19 April 2025, directed by Caroline Steinbeis.
In other news, The Globe’s much-loved production of Hansel and Gretel is back for Christmas, playing the Globe Theatre from 29 November 2024 to 5 January 2025. The show is written by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage and directed by Nick Bagnall.
Also, new writing company HighTide are back with More… Ghost Stories by Candlelight, from 30 October to 2 November 2024; and from Thursday 6 March 2025, Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank returns with a new 90-minute version of Macbeth, created especially for young people.
Currently playing at Shakespeare’s Globe is Richard III, until 3 August, and The Taming of the Shrew to 26 October.
