Cameron Mackintosh has announced more casting for the UK dates of his new Les Miserables The Arena Spectacular world tour.
Already announced are Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean and Bradley Jaden as Javert at selected dates, and Michael Ball as Javert and Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean at other dates.
They will be joined by Bonnie Langford (Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, Anything Goes) as Madame Thénardier, Gavin Lee (Mary Poppins) as Thénardier, Jac Yarrow (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) as Marius, Beatrice Penny-Touré (The Book of Mormon) as Cosette, Channah Hewitt (Les Misérables) as Fantine, James D. Gish (Wicked) as Enjolras and Jeremy Secomb (The Phantom of the Opera) as Bishop of Digne.
In terms of the European dates of the tour, Peter Jöback will star as Jean Valjean in Sweden, and announced earlier this week, current Les Miserables London star Milan van Waardenburg will play Jean Valjean in Amsterdam, joined by Bradley Jaden as Javert. Also Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean and Bradley Jaden as Javert are playing other selected European dates.
Also announced today, most UK performances have already sold out for the Arena show, but new seats have been added in all cities, plus an extra performance in Manchester.
The epic concert version of Les Miserables will feature a cast and orchestra of over 65, and a total crew of over 110.
London dates for the tour have still not been announced for Les Miserables The Arena Spectacular, which is an expanded version of the hugely successful Les Misérables The Staged Concert.
Les Miserables is now in its 39th year in London at the Sondheim Theatre, and will run throughout the upcoming 40th anniversary celebrations for the world’s longest running musical in 2025.
The tour is produced by Cameron Mackintosh (Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera) and Nick Grace (Walking with Dinosaurs, Batman Live).
