Stylish men’s fashion website Mr Porter is a sponsor of the Almeida’s forthcoming musical adaptation of American Psycho starring Doctor Who’s Matt Smith.
And to celebrate they have given the male stars of the show a slick fashion shoot makeover in the spirit of this hard-edged, dark New York tale.
Directed by Rupert Goold, this new musical thriller based on Bret Easton Ellis’s cult novel stars Matt Smith as the lead character of narcissistic yuppie psychopath Patrick Bateman.
Other cast includes Ben Aldridge as Paul Owen, Charlie Anson as Craig McDermott, Jonathan Bailey as Tim Price, Katie Brayben as Courtney Lawrence, Cassandra Compton as Jean, Holly Dale Spencer as Prostitute, Susannah Fielding as Evelyn Williams, Simon Gregor as Detective Kimball, Holly James as Prostitute, Lucie Jones as Female Ensemble, Tom Kay as Sean Bateman, Gillian Kirkpatrick as Patrick’s Mother and Mrs Wolfe, Eugene McCoy as David Van Patten and Hugh Skinner as Luis Carruthers.
American Psycho: A New Musical Thriller runs at the Almeida Theatre in London from 3 December 2013 to 25 January 2014.
The Almeida Theatre is on a roll at the moment with Richard Eyre’s acclaimed production of Ibsen’s Ghosts starring Lesley Manville transferring into the West End’s Trafalgar Studios.
