Initial casting has been confirmed for a number of the UK and European dates on the Les Miserables The Arena Spectacular World Tour.
Last month it was confirmed that Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Killian Donnelly and Bradley Jaden would all be joining the tour, playing Jean Valjean and Javert at various dates. Added to this, it has now been announced that Peter Jöback, who recently finished playing Jean Valjean in Les Miserables at the Sondheim Theatre in London, will play the role in his home country of Sweden
Killian Donnelly is set to play Jean Valjean and Bradley Jaden to play Javert at the first 7 cities of the European leg of the tour.
The pair will play Esch-Sur-Alzette in Luxembourg (25 – 27 October 2024), Geneva in Switzerland (30 October 2024 – 3 November 2024), Trieste in Italy (7 -11 November 2024), Milan in Italy (14 – 24 November 2024), Copenhagen in Denmark (27 November 2024 – 1 December 2024), Oslo in Norway (5 – 8 December 2024) and Zurich in Switzerland (19 – 22 December 2024).
Also Peter Jöback will play Jean Valjean in Sweden at: Gothenburg (16-19 Jan 2025); Stockholm (23-26 January 2025); and Malmo (30 January – 2 February 2025).
In terms of the UK tour, which starts at the SSE Arena Belfast on 19 September 2024, Michael Ball will play Javert and Alfie Boe will play Jean Valjean at: Belfast (19, 20 & 21 Sep at 7.30pm and 25, 26, 27 & 28 Sep at 7.30pm); Glasgow (3 & 4 Oct at 7.30pm, 5 Oct at 2pm, 6 Oct at 6.30pm); Sheffield (10 & 11 Oct at 7.30pm, 12 Oct at 2.30pm, 13 Oct at 6pm); Aberdeen (17 & 18 Oct at 7.30pm, 19 Oct at 2pm); Manchester (27 Dec at 7.30pm, 28 Dec at 2pm, 29 Dec at 1pm); and Newcastle (2 & 3 Jan 7.30pm, 4 Jan at 1pm, 5 Jan at 6.30pm).
Also, Bradley Jaden as Javert and Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean will play at: Belfast (21 & 28 Sep at 2.30pm, 24 Sep at 7.30pm); Glasgow (5 Oct at 7.30pm, 6 Oct at 1pm Sheffield: 12 Oct at 7.30pm, 13 Oct at 1pm); Aberdeen (19 Oct at 7.30pm, 20 Oct at 1pm); Manchester (26 & 28 Dec at 7.30pm, 27 Dec at 2pm); and Newcastle (4 Jan at 7.30pm, 5 Jan at 12.30pm).
The epic concert version of Les Miserables will feature a cast and orchestra of over 65, and a total crew of over 110. Further casting will be announced soon.
London dates for the tour are yet to be announced for Les Miserables The Arena Spectacular, which will be expanded from the hugely successful Les Misérables The Staged Concert which played for over 200 performances in the West End.
Les Miserables is now in its 39th year, and will run throughout the upcoming 40th anniversary celebrations for the world’s longest running musical in 2025.
The tour is produced by Cameron Mackintosh (Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera) and Nick Grace (Walking with Dinosaurs, Batman Live).
