Here’s a first-listen of the new concert version of Your Lie in April, coming to the the Theatre Royal Drury Lane next month.
In the video, Zheng Xi Yong (Spring Awakening) who plays Kōsei Arima and Rumi Sutton (Hex) who plays Kaori Miyazono, sing ‘One Hundred Thousand Million Stars’ from the show.
The European premiere of this manga-to-musical concert is taking place on 8 and 9 April 2024 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The concert will also star Rachel Clare Chan (Death Note), Joanna Ampil (Miss Saigon), Dean John-Wilson (Death Note), plus Eu Jin Hwang, Julie Yammanee, Jade Albertsen, Lauren Chia, Hannah Yun Chamberlain, Imogen Rose Hart, Yuki Abe, Chris Fung, Ernest Stroud, JoJo Meredith, Michael Lin, Samuel How, Jason Yang-Westland.
Your Lie in April is directed and choreographed by Nick Winston (Bonnie & Clyde, Burlesque The Musical), and adapted from Naoshi Arakawa’s hugely successful manga. The show has music by Frank Wildhorn (Bonnie and Clyde, Death Note, Jekyll and Hyde), lyrics by Carly Robyn Green and Tracy Miller, a Japanese book by Riko Sakaguchi, and English book by Rinne B Groff.
The concert’s design is by Justin Williams, with music arrangements and orchestrations by Jason Howland, alongside musical supervisor Katy Richardson, musical director Christopher Poon, casting director Harry Blumenau, and cultural consultant Yojiro Ichikawa.
