Is Bucks Fizz musical “Making Your Mind Up” coming to the West End?

That wasn’t a headline we expected to write this week, but could it be true?!

A long rumoured stage musical based on legendary 80’s pop group Bucks Fizz, and their Eurovision-winning song “Making Your Mind Up“, could be inching closer to the West End.

Bucks Fizz were massive in the 1980’s, having won the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest for the UK with “Making Your Mind Up”.

Bobby G, Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan and Jay Aston of Bucks Fizz then went on to have a succession of UK chart hits, including “The Land of Make Believe”, “My Camera Never Lies”, “Now Those Days Are Gone”, “If You Can’t Stand the Heat”, “When We Were Young” (1983) and “New Beginning (Mamba Seyra)” .

And now, Cheryl Baker has appeared on BBC Breakfast this week to say that a Bucks Fizz musical is heading to the West End!

It's Bucks Fizz…. The Musical.

The Bucks Fizz star said that “I am so excited that the Bucks Fizz The Musical is being written as I’m speaking now, and it’s going to be coming to the West End. I think it’s superb – can’t wait to see it.”

Cheryl Baker, along with Mike Nolan and Jay Aston, are now part of new band The Fizz, with the other original band member Bobby G playing as Bucks Fizz.

Could a musical based on their hit song “Making Your Mind Up” be on the cards for London theatre? And will it include the iconic ripping-off of the skirts? We hope so!
