Boston Ballet launched its 50th anniversary this month with a season at the London Coliseum.
The six performances highlighted the company’s diverse repertoire including four groundbreaking neo-classical and contemporary ballets.
Programme 1 presented Vaslav Nijinsky’s Afternoon of a Faun, George Balanchine’s Serenade and Symphony in Three Movements, and Boston Ballet resident choreographer Jorma Elo’s Plan to B.
Programme 2 featured a contemporary repertoire that included William Forsythe’s explosive The Second Detail, Christopher Wheeldon’s boldly stylized Polyphonia and Jiří Kylián’s emotional masterpiece Bella Figura.
