Hot young actor Robert Lonsdale has been announced as one of the leads in Tim Rice’s new West End musical From Here To Eternity.

At a packed event in Trafalgar Square yesterday, Saturday 22 June, Tim Rice introduced Londsale as one of the stars of his new show.
Robert Lonsdale will play Private Robert E Lee Prewitt in From Here To Eternity, the part played by Montgomery Clift in the Hollywood movie.
At the West End Live event, which is London theatre’s annual celebration in Trafalgar Square, Robert sang the world premiere of Fight The Fight from the show, which is Rice’s first new musical for over 10 years.
Lonsdale’s stage credits include Brilliant Adventures for Caroline Steinbeis at the Royal Court, A Life for Eleanor Rhode at the Finborough Theatre, Anna Christie at the Donmar and Finding Neverland at the Curve for Rob Ashford, La Bete for Matthew Warchus in the West End and Broadway and workshop productions of Made in Dagenham for Rupert Goold and From Here To Eternity for Tamara Harvey. TV includes Silent Witness and A Passionate Woman.
The casting of Sgt. Milton Warden and Karen Holmes, immortalised in the movie by Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr, is to be announced shortly.
The show, which starts its run at the Shaftesbury Theatre from 30 September 2013, is written by an acclaimed team including Tim Rice (lyrics), Stuart Brayson (music) and Bill Oakes (book). From Here to Eternity is directed by Tamara Harvey, with designs by Soutra Gilmour and choreography by Javier De Frutos.
West End Live continues today, Sunday 32 June 2013, in Trafalgar Square, finishing at 6pm.
